Counselling is usually short-term and focused on the issues impacting your study and wellbeing. You can access SWAG合集counselling services, online, face to face and over the phone. You may be referred to appropriate practitioners off-campus if long-term counselling or specialist services are required.
You may want to use our counselling service and other, useful self-help resources to enhance your wellbeing, and to:

Online counselling

You can decide whether you would like to talk with a Student Counsellor online, face to face or telephone, whatever suits your preference. Online counselling can either be real time face-to-face support or Live Chat with a Student Counsellor using free and secure Zoom conferencing technology. The free and confidential session lasts up to 50 minutes. You can also choose Email Counselling as another way of talking to a Student Counsellor.

How to access online counselling

Please contact us to request an online counselling appointment or book directly by clicking on the link below ‘Book now’ (except for Email Counselling). Please read the following information carefully so you understand the different modes of online counselling and how to access each type.

Video Counselling is an in person face-to-face session however conducted through a cloud based service called Zoom, using the HD video function only. If you would prefer you can arrange with the Student Counsellor to hold a session via Zoom, using the audio function only. To access Video Counselling call or email the Wellbeing Team using the contact details below or book online by clicking on the ‘Book now’ icon below.

Email Counselling is provided through an exchange of emails between you and the Student Counsellor. The Student Counsellor will respond with a Counselling Therapy email within 48 hours where possible. You will be provided with a private email address to forward a typed document rather than emailing straight into a message. Live Chat Counselling is provided through Zoom, using the chat function. A student chats to a Student Counsellor about their personal challenges through typed live chat, and the Student Counsellor responds with Counselling Therapy also via typed Live Chat. The Live Chat session will be booked in at an appointed date and time. After-hours support
